A Consummation Devoutly To Be Wished

A commenter at Lenin's Tomb writes:
Lijia Zhang was at the Sydney bookshop where I work launching her memoir 'Socialism Is Great!: A Worker's Memoir of the New China'.

She discussed how at 16 years old she was put to work in a factory, performing repetitive tasks and refering to the job as mind numbing.

I was standing a few feet from my manager trying not to laugh at the irony of having my workday described by our 'author' as the horrors of socialist china.
